Working with design tokens in Figma

Design tokens are a great example of how ideas from software engineering and visual design can come together improve our workflows and processes in interdisciplinary teams. In our team, we’ve begun to use design tokens by creating global style guides with naming conventions for colors and font styles.

This recent post explains some new features coming online in Figma for working with design tokens. A new insight for me is that a token can be used to represent a context-dependent variable (like two variations of body text color for light and dark mode) instead of a fixed value.
